We have two clay courts and a very active tennis program. For specific information about Adult Tennis and Jr. Tennis please visit the page for each of these programs.
For 2021 tennis is open for fully vaccinated players. In addition to the General rules (see below) all players are required to abide by additional COVID rules for the 2021 season:
BHYC Tennis COVID-19 Prevention Protocols for Players
Stay home and get well if you are symptomatic of the coronavirus in any way. Masking for tennis players will be optional, both on and off the court, at member’s discretion. Vaccinated members will not be required to wear masks while outdoors. The junior tennis program (JTP) does recommend that, in fairness to children who want or need to remain masked, junior tennis clinic participants wear masks in solidarity.

Tennis Clinic Information
For summer 2021, BHYC tennis has two instructors:

- Assistant Tennis Pro, Isabella
- Bob will be available on Tuesday mornings from 8 – noon. Adult clinics will be held from 8 – 9. Junior clinics will be held on the hour from 9 – noon (3 sessions based on ability and scheduling around JSP times)
- Isabella will be available on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 9 – noon for junior level instruction. See junior tennis page for details
Tennis clinic Pricing
- Tennis clinic sign-ups are encouraged to be online for the 2021 season
- The cost for junior tennis clinics will be weekly for two clinic sessions (Tuesday and Friday)
- $40/week for Tennis Rookies with Isabella
- $55/week for junior tennis clinics
- New Balls $4/can
- Demo rackets available- new and used rackets for sale through Bob Christie
General rules:
- All players (junior and adult) must wear smooth-soled court shoes in order to play. Bare feet, running or cross training shoes (i.e. with treads) are not allowed. Players will be asked to cease play if wearing inappropriate footwear.
- Sign up to reserve a court (see below)
- Please drag brush the surface of the court after playing, hang up the brushes, and dispose of trash properly
- Do not play on court if too wet (shoes dent it when walked on)
- Do not lower net after play
Sign-ups
- Those wishing to use the court should sign up at this link
- Court time can be booked in 1 ½ hour segments, from 7am to 6:30pm
- Only those members who have paid their tennis dues can play
- House guests and/or renters cannot sign up to play
- All guests (a non-member visiting a member) must be accompanied by the dues-paying member at the time of play
- Members can sign up for two court times per week in advance
- If unable to use court at reserved time, please cancel to allow others to play at that time
