This is an extraordinary moment for our beloved BHYC. In our 125th year, we look back with immense gratitude for all that defines our special community. Now is the time to ensure that BHYC remains a vibrant, safe, and welcoming home for our members today and for decades to come.
Guided by a thoughtful, strategic site plan, years in the making, we are ready to revitalize our Club’s campus while preserving its unique, rustic Maine charm. Our goal is to improve accessibility and connection across the grounds so members of all ages can navigate our space with ease. Together, we can look forward to:
- A level lawn for informal gatherings and activities, as well as organized social events
- A new tennis court for our growing tennis community
- A stronger, more resilient pier to withstand winter storms and support our waterfront
- Refurbished kitchens and bathrooms to better serve our members and events
- Beautiful, accessible pathways, seamlessly connecting the clubhouse, waterfront, parking, tennis, and junior sailing areas

Thanks to careful stewardship, our Club stands on sound financial footing. We have built up reserves in anticipation of future needs, and the sale of the Ebeling house will allow us to reinvest significant capital directly back into our campus. Because we are deeply committed to keeping BHYC affordable for all members, our goal is to achieve this transformation without an assessment or a significant increase in dues. To cross the finish line, we are relying on the collective generosity of our membership.
So why give? Because we love this place. We want to protect and improve it for ourselves, our children, and future generations who will come here to build memories with families and friends along these shores. With a dedicated leadership team ready to execute—including Site Committee members Penn Lindsay, Andrew MacArthur, Mac Eysenbach, and John Murphy—we are poised to begin.
As we celebrate our historic 125-year milestone, let us each give from the heart to sustain the place that has given us so much. Working together, we will build a revitalized campus that honors our traditions and serves generations to come.
