Folks, I’m sorry to write this, but we’re down to the last sweet week in August. This is it. The annual reality check that says fall is upon us, the mums have already appeared in the nurseries and the calendar part of this weekly email is shorter than the notes that follow!

9:30 – 12:30pm; Last Junior Tennis Clinic of the season
NO TENNIS ROOKIES TODAY
2:00 – 4:15: Contract Bridge at the Club House
6:00pm: Happy Hour on the Porch. BYO wine or beer, and an appetizer to share with friends.
Saturday, August 25
12:45pm: A&B Series Races – Final Race of the season
4:00pm: Special Race Tea, recognizing our Honorary members
Sunday, August 26
Dock attendants schedule changes to 9am to 5pm
Saturday, September 1
Dock attendants on duty ONLY on weekends, 9am to 5pm
Sunday, September 2
5:00pm: Labor Day Weekend Closing Cocktail Party.

- 4. The Honorary Tea recognizes the substantial contribution of 5 members, who have given over 259 years of service to the Club. Please join us as we celebrate Flo deGozzaldi, Julie Eaton, Ann Ebeling, John Eysenbach, and Wally Palmer.

- 5. The dock attendants switch to their fall schedule, starting Sunday, Aug 26. Then on Sunday, September 2, they will only be working on weekends.

- 6. The Annual Labor Day Weekend Closing Cocktail Party is Sunday, September 2, 5pm. No reservations are needed, and there’s no charge. Just bring your wine or beer, and an appetizer to share with about 10 people. Guests are welcomed.

- 7. Should you need some good winter reads, the Book Club selections for next season are: Hardy’s Tess of the d’urbervilles and Ford’s The Good Soldier.
