- JSP Covid regulations will follow guidelines provided by federal and state CDC’s and are subject to change at any time, including mid-season.
- Students will be required to complete Maine’s State requirements for out-of-state visitors, if any, prior to entering the program, and to notify the JSP Chair if they become ill within two weeks of leaving the JSP so that appropriate contact-tracing can be instituted.
- As long as it continues to be recommended by the Maine CDC, all sailors (both students and instructors) will be required to wear masks with over-the-ear elastic bands while on JSP premises, including while in boats. Exceptions will be granted for single-handing and when there are single families (without an instructor) in a boat.
- As much as is realistically possible, students will be expected to participate in social distancing while on land. Daily “chalk talks” will take place on the lawn or under a tarp if it rains to allow for appropriate distancing and good ventilation.
- A hand-washing sink will be provided in the JSP area.
- We intend to enact codes of behavior both on and off the water. The rules for the program will be laid out at the beginning of each week. Above all, students will be expected to follow staff instructions both on and off the water. Major infractions will result in dismissal from the program.
- All inter-club regattas are TBD for the summer, as of April.
